We seek to ensure justice, order, and domestic tranquility, as one nation under God, our Creator. Without a restrictive government, as free people, all Oregonians have the opportunity, through hard work and perseverance, to build a more prosperous future for themselves, their families, and their communities. We strive to reach each generation. To teach, proclaim, promote, and defend the essential civic virtues of our founding fathers and the Constitution of the United States America.

    A Bit of Trivia

    Malheur County is located in the southeast corner of Oregon. It is bordered by Baker County on the north, the State of Idaho on the east, the State of Nevada on the south, and Harney and Grant Counties on the west. It is the 2nd largest county in the state with 9,874 square miles.

    Malheur County derives its name from French trappers during an expedition to the Snake River country in 1825-1826, when their property and furs were stolen

    from their encampment they demeaned it the Malheur. "Malheur" is French for "Bad Hour" (misfortune).
